'Times like these bring friends closer': PM Modi responds to President Trump's praise

India decided to supply hydroxychloroquine to the United States after President Trump spoke to PM Modi on Saturday and requested for the release of the US order for the anti-malarial drug that is also believed to be effective against COVID-19


Responding to UD President Donald Trump’s praise for supplying hydroxychloroquine(HCQ) to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that times like these bring friends closer. PM Modi also asserted that the world community will finally win this battle against COVID-19.

“Fully agree with you, President Donald Trump. Times like these bring friends closer. The India-US partnership is stronger than ever. India shall do everything possible to help humanity’s fight against COVID-19. We shall win this together,” Prime Minister Modi stated in a tweet.

After India’s decision to supply HCQ toUS, President Trump, in a tweet, had praised both PM Modi and the Indian people and said that the US will not forget this gesture.

“Extraordinary times require even closer cooperation between friends. Thank you, India and the Indian people for the decision on HCQ. Will not be forgotten! Thank you Prime Minister for your strong leadership in helping not just India, but humanity, in this fight!” Trump had said.
