The United States of America continues to maintain its leadership as far as the best universities in the world is concerned. According to the sixth annual Best Global Universities ranking of U.S. News & World Report 2019, the United States has earned eight of the top 10 spots.
The rankings were finalised after taking into consideration 13 different variables that measure academic research. These variables included academic reputation, international collaboration, publications and citations.
