'Corona wale baba' arrested in UP: Fake Godman Ahmad Siddiqui put behind bars for selling 'talisman' to cure Coronavirus

Ahmad Siddiqui had put up a board outside his shop claiming those who could not wear a mask could use his talisman to keep coronavirus away


The Coronavirus outbreak has opened avenues for fake Godmen to make money by befooling people in the name of curing COVID-19.

Ahmad Siddiqui was one such fake Godman who was selling ‘talisman’ for merely Rs 11 claiming it cured coronavirus.

He had put up a board outside his shop in Lucknow’s Daliganj area claiming those who could not wear a mask could use the talisman to keep coronavirus away.

The police arrested Ahmad Siddiqui on charges of “fraud and forgery” after the chief medical officer reportedly informed the administration about this conman.

According to Lucknow Police, the accused calls himself “Corona Wale Baba” and was duping innocent people. Two people have tested positive for coronavirus in Lucknow so far.
